Ministerial Practice Refining Theology: Revising “Intergenerational Christian Formation”

When: June 7, 2023, 1:00 pm - Wednesday

Where: Board Room

Session 1

Session Abstract

Over the last ten years, Intergenerational Christian Formation has remained the touchstone for conversations about the practice of intergenerational ministry. After countless dialogues with scholars and practitioners across a broad span of theologies and denominations, the book’s authors began to revise the text. Cory Sebel joined in updating the book’s theology, approach to leadership, and intergenerational spiritual disciplines. The authors have added an empirical chapter reviewing 35 doctoral projects (2010-2020) on the topic, consequently broadening the challenges and recommendations for intergenerational practice. The revised edition becomes available in June 2023. This session will review the impact of this work on the practice of ministry and discuss new possibilities.
