Where: Shinn Event Hall
Evening Focus
Event Abstract
Since the 2020 publication of Jesus and John Wayne: How White Evangelicals Corrupted a Faith and Fractured a Nation, historian Kristin du Mez has been at the center of national conversations about faith, culture, and American evangelicalism. Her sweeping reexamination of white evangelicalism’s rugged masculinity and Christian nationalism leaves us with much to ponder and discuss. For this year’s Landon Saunders’ Lecture, Professor du Mez will deliver a lecture, followed by an interview with Pepperdine University chaplain, Sara Barton. Following the interview, there will be a time of Q&A with the audience.
