This Is Our Story: The Stone-Campbell Movement Heritage at Risk and our Responsibility

When: June 9, 2023, 9:00 am - Friday

Where: Journals Room

Session 6

Session Abstract

Religious movements, universities, and communities know their history only because groups of dedicated individuals at one point decided to archive and arrange these materials for long-term preservation. As growing numbers of congregations and institutions within the Stone-Campbell movement merge or close, a tidal wave of American history is at risk of being forgotten forever. In this roundtable discussion, librarians and consultants discuss these challenges and risks, offering paths forward for our collective future that take responsibility for preserving the Stone-Campbell Movement as an important, long-term historical community.
