What Will Be Our Future? A Reading by CSC Authors

When: June 8, 2023, 1:45 pm - Thursday

Where: Board Room

Session 4

Session Abstract

This panel features three Christian Scholars Conference authors reading their own creative works of short prose and poetry on the themes of the relationship between our past and future. Shelly Sanders, writer-in-residence and professor of English at Abilene Christian University, will read from her short fiction, a meditation on how quickly our future becomes past. Houston-based author Christine Galib, who serves as Senior Director of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Houston’s tech and innovation hub, explores these questions, using the lens of literature in the form of a story, Prisoner 10642, from her recent volume, Parables from the Pandemic: Holding onto Hope in a Hurting World. Nancy Posey of Lipscomb University will model her use of narrative and flash memoir to preserve family history of faith.
