Session Abstract

C.S. Lewis passed away almost sixty years ago. Yet his worldwide influence has remained undimmed across the years. In 2005, Time magazine deemed him the “hottest theologian of the year.” In 2013 the New York Times proclaimed him an “evangelical rock star.” Today there are over 300 C.S. Lewis Societies worldwide. He is the focus of countless conferences, publications and stage presentations. What accounts for the ongoing appeal of a British scholar in Medieval Literature? This roundtable discussion will consider the breadth of Lewis’ impact today, especially with an eye to his conceivable areas of impact in the future.
