When: June 8, 2022, 2:45 pm - Wednesday
Where: Ezell 263
Session 2
Session Abstract
Joi Carr, Director of Film at Seaver College, will lead an open conversation about film as a medium for religious and theological exploration. Cinema creates a transdisciplinary learning space and its capacity to engender rich religious and theological reflection is a boon to every discipline. Together, attendees will examine the centrality of cinematic arts as religious/theological texts, as an opportunity to explore cultural values and its connection to society. How can film contribute to exploring salient contemporary religious and theological questions in the context of culture? What can scholars glean from film as art and as a cultural byproduct?
